Lamai and Taling Ngam boast beautiful swimming beaches, with several Western-owned bars, restaurants and imported food suppliers. 

The local airport has daily flights hourly to Bangkok and frequent service to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

Bangkok airways has now introduced a direct flight from Koh Samui to Hong Kong on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
